This standard applies to apples of varieties (cultivars) grown from Malus domestica Borkh., to be supplied fresh to the consumer, apples for industrial processing being excluded.

This standard applies to pears of varieties (cultivars) grown from Pyrus communis L. to be supplied fresh to the consumer, pears for industrial processing being excluded.

Pears to be sold must meet the minimum requirements and should be: whole, healthy, clean, practically free from pests and the damage caused by pests, free of abnormal external moisture, free from foreign odors and flavors.
Pears are divided into three classes. Fruits should be: Extra Class - the highest quality, a characteristic of the variety and shape, size and color, with an intact stalk, with a completely healthy flesh, no stone cells, class I - good quality, a characteristic of the variety and shape, size and color, with completely healthy flesh, no stone cells, Class II - of sufficient quality, the flesh without any major defects.
